How to Add Testers in Google Play Console

Updated Dec 2024 AppTesterHub Guide

Google Play Console makes it easy to manage testers for release tracks. Here’s how you can set it up quickly.

Step 1: Log In & Choose App

Step 2: Testing Section

  • Navigate to Release > Testing in the left menu.
  • Select Closed Testing (or Internal/Open).
  • Click Manage track (or Manage testers).

Step 3: Add Testers

You have two main methods:

A. Using Email Lists

  • Create a list name.
  • Upload a CSV of emails or type them in.

B. Using Google Groups (Recommended)

  • Select "Google Groups".
  • Enter the group email address (e.g., apptesterhub1@googlegroups.com).
  • This automatically allows all members of that group to test.

Step 4: Share the Link

  • Copy the "Join on Web" link (Opt-in URL).
  • Send this to your testers. They MUST click this to accept the invite.

Step 5: Move to Production

Once you finish the 14-day requirement, you can promote your release to Production from the dashboard.
